The rise of the Slovak Agricultural Library (SlPK) in Nitra is closely
connected with the establishment of the University of Agricultural and
Forestry Engineering (VSPLI) in Kosice in 1946. In 1951, it was termed
the Central Agricultural Library, becoming the first central special library in
the Slovak Republic.
Library has been the central library of the Slovak Agricultural University
in Nitra since 1960. Nowadays it fulfils two primary functions - it is special
scientific library and university library.
Since 1997 the Library has moved to a new building
